Awhile back I made a video about some instances where you never want to use the 3rd shot drop. Making that video inspired me to make this video about how to improve the 3rd shot drop instead. I picked out 3 very common mistakes that people make with the 3rd shot drop all the time and I explain how to fix them.

This channel is dedicated to all the gold seeking Pickleballers out there who dink responsibly and stay out of the kitchen. We have all levels come through the channel, but we concentrate on the 4.0, 4.5 and up to 5.5 with the pros.
I started this channel quite by accident, I was recording my games to do film study and get better. I did not have time or money for lessons from pro pickleball coach, so I started watching all my screwups. People that I was playing with started to ask if they could watch too and I said sure. That helped all of us a lot to improve our game, strategy, mental toughness, and techniques. Now we have new pickleball videos published several times a week. We occasionally have pro pickleball players on the channel. Mostly its non pro pickleball players on their quest to 5.0 pickleball. We have all levels come through the channel, but we concentrate on the 4.0 pickleball, 4.5 pickleball and up to 5.5 pickleball with the pros.

NOTE: There's an error about the serving rules in the video. Your feet can be on the centerline or sideline, it just can't be past it either way.
A common bit of advice you hear all the time in the pickleball world is "just get your serve in". And this is great advice! But every now and then, it's fun to spice things up. In this video, I show you 5 really cool pickleball serves that you can use to impress your friends. You'll be hearing the "good serve!" compliment a lot when you use these!

The Selkirk Vanguard Mach 6 is an exciting new paddle from Selkirk that continues the "long handle" trend that we've been seeing lately. I received one free from Selkirk and I talk all about it in this video. Spoiler alert: it's my new singles paddle and I couldn't be more pleased with it!

One of the keys to taking command of a game is to get a quick sideout. Getting a sideout before your opponent can rack up the points is important because it boosts your confidence and keeps you ahead of the curve.
In this video, I'm going to show you an effective shot that will help you get more sideouts in pickleball.

** UPDATE ** as of January 2018 - The new USAPA rulebook adds this clarification: Section 9i states, โFor non-officiated play, non-volley-zone faults may be called by any player on either team. Benefit of the doubt goes to the player who makes the call.โ
In this episode of Pickleball 411, Rusty talks about the surprisingly controversial question of who exactly can call Non Volley Zone, or Kitchen Foot Faults. He also reminds us how we can actually improve our game by calling foot faults.

I get asked a lot: "what is the best pickleball drill?". I think there are a lot of great pickleball drills. But if I had to pick one, it's the one I show you in the video. You can do this drill with just 2 people and it covers so many aspects of the game.

In this video, I explain what split stepping is and how to use it properly in pickleball. I also include some examples and show you how to do it. Keep in mind that you don't have to split step right when the ball is hit. Split stepping once the ball is on the way to you is totally fine!
