Pickleball players often confuse the movement required after a return with the movement required after a serve. "GET UP TO THE LINE!" is what they hear over and over. Getting up to the line is, however, vastly different if you are doing after a return than after a serve.

In this video we explore the difference and set the stage for the next videos that will delve into this critical distinction. Understanding the difference can greatly reduce your errors on there pickleball court.

This is part of our pickleball fundamentals video series for Project 4.0. Pickleball improvement - Pickleball Movement - Serve and Return.

Movement is an often overlooked skill in pickleball. Players focus all their attention on their dinking and third shots, not spending enough time on court positioning and movement. The best shots in the game, however, are of no use if you are not in the right spot.

In this video we track Debbie as she moves with the point, from back to front and then side to side. Move on the pickleball court as she does and your game will definitely improve.

Good luck out there

Work to prevent pickleball injuries. Let's avoid that tennis elbow or golfers elbow from creeping into our arm. The forearm is a good place to focus some time - minimize elbow pain by having a stronger arm.

In this video series we give you some basic strengthening exercises aimed at pickleball that you can do at home.

NOTE - we are pickleball professionals - not medical professionals. We do not offer any medical advice or guidance. These are suggestions based on things that have worked for me in the past. If you are unsure as to whether you should do any of the exercises or movements in this video, consult your physician. If any of the exercises or movements in this video cause you pain or discomfort, STOP and consult your physician before proceeding.

The flick lob can be a good defensive tool in pickleball. It can help you defend against a wide dink that puts you in a tough spot. This is not an easy pickleball shot but once you master it you can use it to turn a defensive position into an offensive shot. Improving your pickleball game.

One of the most pernicious errors in pickleball is giving up the no volley zone line after you have hit your pickleball return of serve. In this video we give you a drill you can use to fix that error. Or at least to check yourself.

If you are not gaining the line after each return of serve, you are giving up points, guaranteed.

Do you know when the Pickleball Serving Team attacks you? | Pickleball Return of Serve - Project 4.0

Hitting a short return in pickleball reduces your advantage as the return team. It allows the serving team to attack you with drive thirds and even when a dropped third is hit it allows the serve team to move forward for an easier shot. A short return also shortens the distance/time that the server has to get to the NVZ.

Avoid these pitfalls by returning deep. Keep the servers back.

This is part of our pickleball fundamentals video series for Project 4.0. Pickleball improvement - Pickleball Return of Serve - No Short Returns.
