A great shot to add to your pickleball arsenal is an offensive lob. A well disguised and executed lob when all 4 players are leaning in hard expecting a dink or a fast ball can be deadly.
It turns the tables on your opponents in an instant and puts your team in the driver's seat while they are left scrambling and in an extremely defensive position.

Do you struggle with your 3rd shot? It could be that your vision of what the shot should look like is totally off.
Many players don't understand the path the ball should be taking from their paddle to the bounce.
This is crucial to grasp because if you don't then your 3rd shot is doomed from the get go and you'll never get it right as long as you have a flawed concept in your mind of how it's supposed to go.
This video will clear that up once and for all with a great side view and slow motion of the exact path the ball takes before, during and after it crossed the net.

Generally in pickleball, the backhand is the weaker side for most people. As a result many servers will target your backhand.
A great option you have available to you on the backhand is a slice return. Slicing the ball keeps it low and will cause it to skid off the court. It makes the 3rd shot a lot more difficult for your opponent.
