The 3 Pickleball Drop Challenge
This is another fun warm-up disguised as a coordination challenge that I like to do using 2 yellow and one pink pickleball.
I start by pointing in a direction that the athlete needs to drop-step and shuffle or run. They touch the back line, come back and slam on the brakes at the kitchen (sound familiar?). I then drop all 3 balls simultaneously and challenge them to grab all 3 balls BUT the pink one MUST BE CAUGHT LAST.
I’ll allow an extra bounce for the pink one while they’re learning the drill, but ultimately I want them dropping their hips (GET LOW) enough that they can grab all 3 on the first bounce.
In between sets we did another t-spine opener and a shoulder warm-up.
