Kitchen manipulation: Every ball we hit at the line should cause stress in our opponents. Ben is a master at this concept - the best I’ve ever seen, especially with his FH dink patterns. The dude literally uses the entire kitchen to throw his opponents off balance.
Why aren’t more players copying his patterns?! He’s given the freakin blueprint to everyone.
As a framework in practice, and as a training tool, try not hitting the same dink twice in a row - it’ll help you look at the entire kitchen. It’s too easy to get locked-in to one spot and hit it over-n-over. How many times have I tried to isolate a weaker dink from my opponents, only to give him rhythm and make it better as the match went on?
Move your ball all over the kitchen, giving your opponents zero rhythm and recognizable patterns. It’s easier said than done, I know, but with some regular, consistent training, will blow your mind at how easy it is to manipulate your opponents’ kitchen game.
